   "True darkness knows no fear."

Name(s): Chase Long
Nickname(s): Devourer of Darkness.  Eater in the Dark
Age: 17
Sex: Male
Birthday: 13/7/x763
Sexuality: Straight.
Class: Cleric
Alignment: Chaotic Good.  Until recently was Chaotic Neutral
Rank: D
Guild: Blue Pegasus
Guild Tattoo: Right chest.  Black in color.
Face Claim: Shizuo Heiwajima from Durarara.

II. APPEARANCE

Height: 6’1”
Weight: 154 lbs
Hair: Blonde (dyed. naturally brown)
Eyes: Brown
General Appearance:
He is a tall and attractive man, whose thin frame belies his unusually high strength.  He prefers to wear sun shades, which cover his yellow-brown eyes.  The look in his eyes can be quite scary, as he gives the impression that he could become violent at a moments notice.  His hair is shaggy and blond, though his natural hair color is more of a dark brown.  He prefers to dress in predominately in black colors highlighted with whites.
Extra: Sunglasses and Cigarettes.

III. PERSONALITY

Personality: (Requires at least 200 words.)
He is a rash man and quick to anger, but prefers making friends over making enemies.  He enjoys a friendly fight the most.  He would rather limit himself and have fun, than be angry and go all out, but he’s smart enough to know when things are serious.  He has trouble backing away from a fight preferring to go until there is a clear winner.

He has a hedonistic personality loving women, cigarettes and liquor.  While he rarely gets drunk enough to lose control, it can happen on occasion.  He has no desire to quit smoking, but will typically put them away if someone politely asks him.  He prefers a trashy type of woman and is rarely attracted to the pure type.

He deeply values his friends and fears being alone and poor, like he was after his dragon disappeared.  His favorite kind of friend is someone he can fight with.  He doesn’t have anything against weaker people, but they don’t hold his interest as well.

He will seek to make money at any opportunity, but is not good at managing his money.  He isn’t above taking advantage of rich people to get what he wants, but pities the poor as he was one.
Likes:

  • His Friends.  He spent a long time alone after his dragon left him.
  • Fighting.  He enjoys a good fight just for fun.  If just sporting, he is gracious in victory or defeat.
  • Money.  He is a bit of a hedonist and money is his ticket to do a lot of the things he wants.
  • Smoking.  A habit he picked up in his youth.  He hasn't felt like quitting yet.

Dislikes:

  • Being rushed.
  • Vegetables.
  • Bright lights
  • Camping.  He prefers to live indoors.

Motivations: (What drives your character?)

  • He wants to live a luxurious and unboring life
  • He wants to find out what happened to his dragon.
  • He wants to fight a lot of strong people.

Fears: (What does your character fear? At least two fears. No bullshit fears. They should be realistic. Use the list code to fill this in.)

  • Being poor.  He was traumatized by his time alone.
  • Chickens.  He was attacked by chickens when raiding for eggs while on his own.

Positive Traits:+12

  • Stealthy (+3): You are particularly good at avoiding notice. You could be sitting somewhere in a thread at a bar and people wouldn't even notice that you were there.
  • Enhanced Strength (+3): Your character is slightly stronger than other characters when it comes to physical strength.
  • Fortitude (+3): You are tougher than normal. You can take more hits than the regular Joe.
  • Swift (+3): You are fleet of foot. When running, you move three times your normal speed.

Negative Traits:-12

  • Bad Reputation (-1)(Violence): You have a reputation that angers or frightens people. Examples include being unlucky, petty, or cruel. The rep may or may not be accurate, but in either case, word travels faster than you do.
  • Judgmental (-1): You form opinions quickly and change them very slowly. You also have a tendency to judge people on their appearance. A man dressed as a pirate, no matter how gentlemanly, is a scoundrel and a dog as far as you is concerned. A man covered in mud is a peasant, and a woman wearing revealing clothing is a prostitute.
  • Ambitious (-1): You crave power. Money is nice, but being in charge of other people is your favorite thing. You are likely to be brought down by attempting a risky grab for power and failing. Even when deals are risky you will give in and agree most of times.
  • Curiosity (-1): You're a naturally curious person and you find mysteries of any sort irresistible. In most circumstances, alas, your curiosity overrides your common sense.
This forces you to investigate something unusual, even if it looks like it might be dangerous.
  • Daredevil (-2): You only really feel alive when you're staring death in the face. Your character is addicted to the thrill of death-defying stunts, pushing himself to the limit at every available opportunity.
  • Dark Secret (-1)(Criminal Past): You have some sort of secret that, if revealed, would make you an outcast amongst your society and companions. While this secret is on your mind at all times, it will come up in topics only once in a while, but when it does, watch out!
  • Extravagant (-1): You enjoy living in the lap of luxury. Ale is never good enough if you can get fine wine instead. You aren't happy with anything less than the finest room in the inn. In addition, any equipment or services you purchase cost 10% more than the standard rate for the locale you are currently in. The best of the best always costs more, after all.
  • Greedy (-1): Money makes your eyes light up with joy. The more, the merrier, as long as it spends. Once in a while, whenever you're divvying up shares of the loot, being offered a hefty bribe, or catching wind of some fabulous treasure, the flaw can to convince you to grab for as much money as possible.
  • Hedonistic (-1): You love a good time. You party too much, drink too much, and eat too much. You have trouble resisting an invitation to join someone in a drink and sometimes shirk your duty if offered a more enjoyable time elsewhere. Whenever a good time is presented you let your guard. You're also not capable to resist seduction of any sort. It's just not in your nature to resist such opportunities.
  • Lecherous (-1): You have a lusty nature and a tendency to pursue the pleasures of the flesh. A woman or a man (however your tastes run) is an almost irresistible temptation to you. You give in to these temptations easily.
  • Reckless (-1): You lack the emotion of fear. Unfortunately, it is often an important cue that keeps men from doing foolhardy things. Sure, you don't flinch at the sight of even the most hideous monster, but neither do you feel the need to run away when outclassed.

IV. MAGIC

Magic: Shadow Dragon Slayer
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: Magic used by a shadow dragon.  This magic involves the eating of shadows and the uses of shadows emanating from the mage’s body.
Strengths:
Shadow Dragon Slayer’s ability to eat shadow magic gives it a large advantage versus mages who rely solely on shadow magic.
Weaknesses:
Some Shadow Dragon Slayer spells require existing shadows and wouldn’t work on a bright unshaded day.  While not explicitly weak versus light, there are many light spells that could take advantage of the previously mentioned need for existing shadows.

V. HISTORY

History: Note: Not sure if Ringjax is the required dragon here.

Chase has no memory of any parents before his dragon father, Ringjax.  They lived together in a peaceful dark forest.  Ringjax was a good dad and besides training Chase in shadow dragon magic, would often play with him and practice shadow games. Shadow dragons aren’t as evil as the name suggests, and Ringjax would often entertain Chase with enhanced shadow puppet shows.  Another one of their common games was shadow hide and seek.  During these games Ringjax would hide in shadows, while Chase went from shadow to shadow trying to find him.

One day, when Chase was around 14, Ringjax could not be found.  Chase assumed that this was another one of their games of hide and seek, but after looking for hours, Chase became worried.  He stayed at their home days hoping for his father’s return, but eventually his food ran out and shadows don’t make the heartiest of meals.

He wandered the land unsure of his place in it.  His whole world had been Ringjax and their home in the shadowed forest.  His first encounter with other humans was a cottage at the edge of their forest.  There didn’t seem to be anyone home and he smelled a delicious odor coming from within.  He quickly entered and took to devouring the stew and fruits found in the cottage.  When he was full and ready to leave, the angry owner of the cottage and the meal returned.  He tried to beat Chase thinking he was just a kid, but Chase was a dragon slayer and without realizing how weak a normal person is savagely beat the man.  Realizing the man was very hurt, he tried carrying the man to help.  And while he did find help, the man was not grateful and called the police on him as a thief and a ruffian.  Chase not knowing his way in the world fled rather than face the authorities.

Still having no clear way in the world, Chase began to live as a thief from city to city. As he became too wanted in one city, he would have to leave for the next city.  While living this life he picked up many vices, such as smoking, liquor and easy women.  At some point, he started feeling that his thieving lifestyle was wrong, but he didn’t know any other way.

Having freshly arrived in Hargeon, he had decided to make a try at making an honest living, but he didn’t have many skills beyond fighting and stealing, and his vices were expensive to keep up.  Ultimately he turned to thievery again, but this time he was caught right away by a mage.  The mage was from Blue Pegasus and put up an incredible fight.  For the first time since he used to fight his father, he had found someone worth sparring with.  The battle was long, but eventually the Blue Pegasus mage won.  Realizing Chase’s potential, the mage informed the guild master who bailed Chase out of prison under the condition that he reform.  Chase is doing his best to reform and has recently joined Blue Pegasus himself.  Only time will tell how successful he will be as a legal mage.

Naga

Remove this "Dragon Slayer is strong in melee combat, using the magic to boost the strength and speed of the mage or maybe even lower the strength or speed of his enemies."

Done.

Was that just because of the debuffing? I understood DS to have a lot of self buffing.

Hey, Chase.

Since there is already a Dragon Slayer within Fairy Tail, you are not able to become one yourself if you stick with Fairy Tail. There is a limit of one Dragon Slayer per guild. Please pick another guild or change your magic.
