Age: 19
Gender: Male
Birthday: July 25th
Sexuality: Homosexual
Rank: D
Guild: N/A
Tattoo: Right Groin - Seafoam Green
Face Claim: Custom

APPEARANCE

Height: 175 cm
Weight: 75 kg
Hair: White, Shaggy
Eyes: Seafoam Green
Description:

Body: Jade is a little on the short side for his age, sitting at 175 cm tall. He has a slightly average, yet cut build. Silver-White shaggy hair drapes down over the boy's lustful seafoam green eyes. His skin tone is tan, which inversely complements his hair color.

Clothing/Accessories: Jade sports a thin red vest with a hood attached to the back over his bare, naked torso. His bottoms are almost always either cargo shorts or swim trunks. Anything constricting in the least is out of the question for Jade. The boy's feet are protected from the elements by various styles of sandals or flip-flops. In his left ear, two small hoops and a single ball stud, all made of lava rock, sit. From the same type of lava rock, a bracelet was made. This bracelet consists of several beads and can always be seen on Jade's left wrist.

PERSONALITY

Personality:

  • Comedic - No matter the circumstances, Jade will always crack a joke or two. Most often, these jokes are in the form of a horrid pun so bad that you absolutely have to laugh at them. When these jokes are attacked, his only response is, "The first rule of comedy: You must understand that all puns are bad."
  • Hedonistic - A love of life and all that it has to offer would be a perfect way to describe Jade's personality. If presented with the opportunity to engage in any preferable activity, sexual or otherwise, he can't find it in himself to decline. This can be offputting to some, however, those closest to Jade seem to learn that it's his own way of dealing with stress.
  • Passionate - When it comes to the fight between nature and progress, Jade's fire burns brightest. No matter the reason, he feels that protecting what nature we have should come first. This includes the environment and the animals that inhabit it, even the humans that seem to willingly destroy it.
  • Compassionate - Jade's love for his friends, families, and even enemies is incredible. Unless it is completely necessary in order to save a life or the environment, killing is out of the question for the mage.

Motivations: Jade's primary motivation is preserving the environment from heartless people. This motivation burns inside of him to the point that anyone he sees tarnishing nature is immediately an enemy. Secondly, Jade wishes to help people and animals alike in need. As a child, the boy would pick up injured animals, keeping them in secret and nurse them back to help.

Fears:

  • Dying Unfulfilled
  • The Eventual Destruction of Nature

Likes:

  • Animals
  • Horticulture
  • Cooking

Dislikes:

  • Desecration of Nature
  • Pollution
  • Fire

Positive Characteristics:

  • Animal Affinity (+2): You are good with animals.
    Explanation: Self explanatory.

  • Animal Tongue (+4): You are capable of speaking with animals.
    Explanation: Self explanatory.

  • Appraise Magic Value (+4): Your ability to determine an item's worth and your knowledge of magic allow you to determine the exact properties of a magic item.
Explanation: 10% discount at any item crafter.

  • Persuasive (+2): You have a way with words and body language. Somehow you manage to persuade weaker minded people easily.
Explanation: When using this feat, players will have to roll a bronze die. Failure to land on a number results in them agreeing with you.

Negative Characteristics:

  • Bad Reputation (-1): You have a reputation that angers or frightens people. Examples include being unlucky, petty, or cruel. The rep may or may not be accurate, but in either case, word travels faster than you do.
Explanation: You can't communicate easily with non player characters. Somehow they've heard of you and the things they've heard weren't too good.

  • Bravado (-2): You are rash in combat, refusing to show weakness by falling back from your enemies' blows. You either face it and stop it, or get hit in the progress. In addition, you cannot fight defensively.
Explanation: You can't create any defensive spells. Offensive spells are made to inflict damage while defensive spells do not inflict any damage at all and are made to prevent damage.

  • Curiosity (-1): You're a naturally curious person and you find mysteries of any sort irresistible. In most circumstances, alas, your curiosity overrides your common sense. This forces you to investigate something unusual, even if it looks like it might be dangerous.
Explanation: You will walk deeper into the forest you have never been before. You won't turn around from the castle that you have never seen. This can result into getting you into very dangerous situations..

  • Derangement/Insanity (-3): Due to circumstances beyond your control, you are permanently insane. You may have a congenital brain disorder, or perhaps you saw something mortals were never intended to lay eyes upon, and it drove you mad. Choose a Derangement/Insanity for your character from the lists below. Though the list is by no means exhaustive, the following options are ones that have been presented in game terms and that have definable--and most times numerical--penalties. (Pyrophobia)

  • Harbinger of Ill Omen (-1): You seem to be cursed to forever bump into a specific person, time and time again. Each time you do, something bad happens not long afterward. This person in no way does this purposefully, it just happens with alarming frequency.
Explanation: You will have character assigned to you by roleplay department of staff who will enter you threads randomly from time to time. When this happens, staff will change the conditions of your thread against you. Such as heavy storm, avalanches or beasts catching onto your smell.

  • Hedonistic (-1): You love a good time. You party too much, drink too much, and eat too much. You have trouble resisting an invitation to join someone in a drink and sometimes shirk your duty if offered a more enjoyable time elsewhere. Whenever a good time is presented you let your guard down. You're also not capable to resist seduction of any sort. It's just not in your nature to resist such opportunities.
Explanation: You always give in when a good time is offered such as drinks, women and other things. Even in the midst of a dangerous raid through a castle you decide to stay in the room that has wine and beautiful girls in them even though they could be monsters.

  • Lecherous (-1): You have a lusty nature and a tendency to pursue the pleasures of the flesh. A woman or a man (however your tastes run) is an almost irresistible temptation to you. You give in to these temptations easily.
Explanation: If fighting or RPing with someone of your sexual preference, you must act lecherous towards them once every three posts.

  • Proud (-1): You don't like accepting help from others. If a gift or offer of aid smacks of charity or pity even the slightest bit, you grow indignant and refuse it.
Explanation: You win 10% less jewels from wheel spins.

  • Reckless (-1): You lack the emotion of fear. Unfortunately, it is often an important cue that keeps men from doing foolhardy things. Sure, you don't flinch at the sight of even the most hideous monster, but neither do you feel the need to run away when outclassed.
Explanation: You can never flee from a fight with someone who is stronger than you.

MAGIC

Magic: Nature Magic
Type: Caster
Element: Wood
Description: This type of magic utilizes the essence of nature itself. This particular strand of magic is based on the growth and use of various plants. Typical spells include, but are not limited to, causing vines to grow and tendrils to wrap around an opponent's legs, growing poison oak in order to irritate an opponent, and the growth of a tree in order to provide a bridge. Water spells do one-half damage when they come into contact with nature magic.
Weaknesses: Fire and fire magic are the main weakness of nature magic. Fire will burn through any incoming nature spell and neutralize it, while still damaging the nature wizard.

HISTORY

History:

Family - Jade was born into a small family of four. His mother and father both belonged to a guild when they had met, but settled down in Roncello before having children. Jade had a younger brother named Triste. Born six years apart, the two brothers were virtually inseparable. Triste had light blonde hair and hazy blue eyes, which cause a few folks around Roncello to doubt that the two were actually brothers.

Childhood - Jade's mother and father lived in a small modern cabin near the Emerald Lake of Roncello. Growing up, the boy would spend all of the time that he wasn't in school outdoors. Once a week, after Jade grew old enough, the family would visit the springs to bathe in the natural waters and unwind. Spending several hours, Jade would lie against the edge and take in his surroundings. As soon as Triste was born, Jade would sit outside of the bath and take care of his baby brother while their parents relaxed.

Teenage Years - After becoming a teen, Jade gained a bit of a rebellious streak. At the age of thirteen, he punched a friend and chipped his tooth for calling Triste ugly; Jade's reasoning for this was that his little brother was adorable and he wanted him to know it.

Every few months, Jade's parents would have to pick him up from the town's jail for starting fights with others. Occasionally, Triste would get in trouble with his instructors for fighting as well. It seemed as though he was trying to imitate his older brother.

In an effort to keep their son out of trouble, as much as they supported his reasoning, Jade's parents got him a job tending crops for a local farmer. Every day after his lessons, Jade would go straight to the farm and work for six to eight hours before returning home. In lieu of payment, the farmer gave Jade a hot meal, a glass of ice tea, and magic lessons after every days work was completed.

One day, a few classmates of Jade's got bored and decided to ruin some farmer's day. When Jade arrived at work, he found the entire field had been wrecked and the three teenagers were standing by the edge cracking up. Although he doesn't quite remember what happened next, Jade was told that the the boys were in the hospital for at least a week. That week seemed like nothing compared to the month that the mage was sentenced to in jail. After seeing Triste's tears as his older brother was hauled off Jade knew that he had to change somehow.

After returning from the jail, Jade spoke with his parents one night while Triste slept. They discussed the situation and decided that it was best if Jade moved out on his nineteenth birthday. The brothers spoke about it and Triste burst into tears, saying that he didn't want to lose his older brother. Jade promised that he would always return to Roncello no matter what and comforted his sibling. The very next Wednesday, the occasion was celebrated out by the lake, though a somber tone overshadowed the cake that Jade's mother had made. The mage was finally going off on an adventure, although it felt more like he was giving up his family.
