GENERAL INFORMATION

Name(s): Ronin of Malta
Nickname(s): Ronin
Age: 28
Gender: male
Birthday: June 13th
Sexuality: straight
Rank: D
Guild: none
Tattoo: throat
Face Claim: Cloud Strife - Final Fantasy VII

APPEARANCE

Height: 5'7
Weight: 140
Hair: blonde
Eyes: blue
Description:
Standing at a measly five foot seven inches and weighing in at around one hundred and forty pounds, Ronin is not the most intimidating of opponents.  What he lacks in size, he makes up for in sneakiness, using his smaller frame to get around undetected.

He's got blonde spiky hair, which he sometimes styles into a mohawk, sapphire hued irises that resemble a crystal in the ocean and seem to glow in certain lighting, and a pretty rockin' six pack.  Due to his proficiency and experience with a sword, the muscles of his arms, chest, abdomen and back are extremely strong and well defined, making him look rather ripped when nude.

While his outfits can change, he is most frequently seen wearing a black tank top, dirty brown cargo pants with suspenders, weathered brown fingerless gloves, dark steel toed boots that have tromped through hell and back and a metal shoulder guard covering his left arm's deltoid muscles.

PERSONALITY

Personality: Loving money above almost all other things, Ronin is quite drawn to anything that appears valuable or even remotely shiny.  If he can steal it and sell it, he'll at least consider it if there's nothing better to do at the moment.  He might come across friendly, but keep an eye on your coin pouch while talking to this one!

Once a highly regarded Knight in the far off lands of Malta, Ronin was accused of a terrible crime and stripped of his cast and title.  Unable to support himself with odd jobs, he turned to a life of thievery to keep money in his pockets and food in his belly.

While he doesn't necessarily want to hurt anyone or cause harm, he holds the fullness of his stomach above most things and will do whatever it takes to keep from starving.  This of course includes lying, sneaking, breaking and entering, looting, pillaging and plundering.  If caught, he will stoop to the lowest levels in order to be released, including bribery, deception, self defecation and anything in between.   In the most desperate of times, he might even turn to his Stealth magic to get him out of a tough situation.

Motivations: money
Fears: his past, being broke, going hungry
Likes: money, drowning himself in booze to forget his past, food
Dislikes: children, being poor, starving
Positive Characteristics: 11/12

  • Zealot
This person has trained themselves to wield a specific type of weapon. This weapon can be mentioned behind the Zealot feat within brackets to claim it upon approval.
Explanation: Player is capable of wielding a weapon and receives one at start. The starter weapon is always common and without any magical properties but may upgraded later on. [Weapon: Ronin's Bastard Sword of the Damned
    ]
  • Stealthy
You are particularly good at avoiding notice. You could be sitting somewhere in a thread at a bar and people wouldn't even notice that you were there.
Explanation: You are able to blend into a crowd, and those entering threads cannot initiate conversation with you until you speak or state your presence in an obvious matter by doing something that draws the attention of others.

  • Nimble Fingers
You are adept at manipulating small, delicate objects. This involves things such as a small mechanics and locks.
Explanation: Capable of picking all locks except magically sealed items.

  • Deceitful
You have a knack for disguising the truth. Your lies are difficult to distinguish from the truth.

Negative Characteristics: 12/12

  • Allergies
You are afflicted with allergies. These may be something as simple as hay fever, but the reactions to such will result in something like a huge bout of sneezing and gasping. You must mention this allergy in your character application.
Explanation: Whenever this allergy comes into play you must suffer the consequences. The allergy must be something that can actually come and not something strange and unique.

  • Branded
You have fled for a crime committed and now have a prominent brand. You may have been a criminal, a slave, or some other such illicit individual. The brand is such that it cannot be easily covered, and a cursory search reveals it each time. Law enforcement agents of any lawful land will immediately take you into custody if they see the mark, for extradition or imprisonment. It is your choice as to whether or not you were falsely accused of the crime.
Explanation: You have a visible sign on your body that can not be hidden. This sign reveals itself clearly when you are in the presence of Rune Knights which will allow them to freely arrest you. Every time you get arrested you must pay a fine to the local authorities to get out. Resisting arrest will result into a larger fine.

  • Bravado
You are rash in combat, refusing to show weakness by falling back from your enemies' blows. You either face it and stop it, or get hit in the progress. In addition, you cannot fight defensively.
Explanation: You can't create any defensive spells. Offensive spells are made to inflict damage while defensive spells do not inflict any damage at all and are made to prevent damage.

  • Clumsiness
You have the unfortunate habit of dropping things, knocking things over, or tripping.
Explanation: You are simply clumsy. You must perform an act of clumsiness in one out of five posts. In combat, you screw up an attack in one out of five posts.

You're a naturally curious person and you find mysteries of any sort irresistible. In most circumstances, alas, your curiosity overrides your common sense. This forces you to investigate something unusual, even if it looks like it might be dangerous.
Explanation: You will walk deeper into the forest you have never been before. You won't turn around from the castle that you have never seen. This can result into getting you into very dangerous situations.

  • Daredevil
You only really feel alive when you're staring death in the face. Your character is addicted to the thrill of death-defying stunts, pushing themselves to the limit at every available opportunity.
Explanation: You can't refuse the opportunity of engaging into combat with anyone or anything that is stronger than you. You also always volunteer and perform tasks that have a risk attached to them when you are in a group.

  • Dark Secret
You have some sort of secret that, if revealed, would make you an outcast amongst your society and companions. While this secret is on your mind at all times, it will come up in topics only once in a while, but when it does, watch out!
Explanation: You must think about your dark secret at least one out of ten posts. When things that are relevant to the dark secret are brought up you can't stop thinking about it.

  • Greedy
Money makes your eyes light up with joy. The more, the merrier, as long as it spends. Once in a while, whenever you're divvying up shares of the loot, being offered a hefty bribe, or catching wind of some fabulous treasure, the flaw can to convince you to grab for as much money as possible.
Explanation: You may act differently when money comes into play.

  • Harbinger of Ill Omen
You seem to be cursed to forever bump into a specific person, time and time again. Each time you do, something bad happens not long afterward. This person in no way does this purposefully, it just happens with alarming frequency.
Explanation: You will have character assigned to you by roleplay department of staff who will enter you threads randomly from time to time. When this happens, staff will change the conditions of your thread against you. Such as heavy storm, avalanches or beasts catching onto your smell.

MAGIC

Magic: Stealth
Type: Caster
Element: none
Description:
"This Magic allows the user to completely erase their own presence, see what cannot normally be seen by others, and make what can normally be seen now unseen."

Ronin most commonly uses this magic to camouflage himself when committing a robbery, allowing him to remain undetected while stealing. Other uses might include exposing valuable items that might've been magically hidden, hiding valuable items that he's stolen previously, escaping from prisons and jails, and hiding his weapon when engaged in combat.

HISTORY

History:
Once a highly regarded Knight with over five hundred battles under his sword in the far off lands of Malta, Ronin was accused of the terrible crime of slaying his wife and infant child.  While it was true that he did, it was completely by accident that this came to be and in his mind, the fault of one man alone; a traveling merchant named Sonny.

One night while cooking up a delicious stew, he heard a knock at the door and opened it to find a man by the name of Sonny, who claimed he was a traveling merchant and eventually sold him some 'incredibly rare pepper'.  Later, while he was applying some of this supposedly incredible pepper to the stew, he had a tremendous sneeze.  This  coupled with his natural clumsiness, resulted in the impaling of his wife and child with a kitchen knife and some of those little corn on the cob skewers.

He couldn't believe what he had done and after finishing a bowl of the stew he had worked so hard on, he lay with his slain family for several days before one of the kingdom's officials came knocking at his door to see what had become of him.

He was branded a murderer and stripped of his cast and title.  He was headed for the stockade, but managed to escape and flee, hoping to one day prove his innocence and clear his tarnished name.  After all, it had only been an accident and he hadn't really meant to kill them!  It was all Sonny's fault!  That bastard and his rare pepper for sale!

Unable to forgive or support himself with odd jobs while living on the streets and wandering town to town, he turned to a life of thievery to keep money in his pockets and food in his belly.  With his almost insatiable curiosity and greed, he realized he had finally found his calling, even going so far as to sell off his very sword for a few extra jewels and some bread.

While his sometimes silver tongue and stealthy ways got him along for a while, eventually the law would catch up with him and he would once again have to flee.  This time, he knew he had to traveler farther than ever before, and he ended up in a place known as Roncello.  What would happen next, was anyone's guess..

While not adding fluff, could I have you beef this up a bit? i.e. give me some specific (yet general) applications of your magic
I've had a chat with some other staff, and we thought that this magic should not be able to invisibilize other people; this magic can only make yourself and certain inanimate objects invisible
furthermore, this would be a support magic, so with this magic you wouldn't be able to make attacks.
