Nickname(s): Renny

Sex: Female
Birthday: 11 August x761
Sexuality: Bisexual
Class: Mystic
Alignment: Lawful Good
Rank: D
Guild: Blue Pegasus
Guild Tattoo: Behind the ear | Blue
Face Claim: Saegusa Mayumi - Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei

II. APPEARANCE

Height: 5'5" | 161 cm
Weight: 115 lbs | 54 kg
Hair: Black
Eyes: Red
General Appearance: Ren is a rather beautiful woman. Her long raven locks fall in waves, hitting her low back. Her crimson eyes greatly contrast her pale skin. With her fairly large curves, the woman exudes the general air of femininity. She is also known for her refined, dignified air as well. She is usually seen in flowing sun dresses, that accentuate her feminine shape. These dresses are usually covered in floral prints or are pale pastel colors. It is not uncommon for her to wear large floppy hats, or carry a parasol whenever she goes out in the sun, a way to protect her fair skin. Typically she is plastered with a pleasant look on her face. It is rare to see the woman with a scowl-- regardless of how she feels.

Extra: The woman has still healing scars all over her back sustained from an attack just before her nineteenth birthday.

III. PERSONALITY

Personality: Ren is a gentle, kindred spirit. Typically  reserved and soft spoken, it is rare to see the woman make a scene. Polite and refined, she is slow to temper and difficult to catch off guard. She holds an air of dignity about her, one that almost wobbles into pompousness.  Of course, even in her polite nature, she is not immune to annoyances. Though rare, typically the people that Ren harbors contempt for are met with passive agressive, back handed-quips that are undoubtedly delivered with a sweet smile. If one is keen enough to question this type of treatment, it is likely that other's will respond with a "How can Ren dislike you? She's so sweet..."

Indeed, he majority of the time, one such statement is true. A philanthropist at heart, she can often be found spending her time in homeless shelters, food banks, orphanages-- the lot: donating time and energy to those 'less fortunate' than herself. Despite this giving nature though, the refined Ren has rather developed tastes to match. In extravagant nature, the woman requires the top quality of everything, or she will choose to go without. This boils down to clothes, linens, the occasional drink, and often even chosen company. While a social person by nature, Ren enjoys a good conversation-- but is slow to fully expose the inner workings of her mind to others. Instead, she picks and chooses what information to give out to other people at any given time, based on her level of trust with people. This is why, outside of her philanthropist duties, in fact, Ren has a very exclusive circle of friends.
Likes:

  • "JiJi" The old man that saved her life
  • Fashion--The finest quality dresses
  • Dinner Parties/Galas (anywhere she can dress fancy)
  • Hobbies that sharpen the mind: chess, reading, etc.

Dislikes:

  • Rodents [mice, rats, gerbils, etc. They're all disease infested vermin]
  • Red-Heads-- She has yet to meet a red-head that she likes [they're all pompous, and overly cocky]
  • Slime/Slimey/Slimey-Looking things [eating it, touching it, looking at it-- it doesn't matter, it gives her the creeps]
  • Being dirty/Being around dirty things

Motivations:

  • Obtaining her memories. After having lost her memories, Ren is motivated in discovering who she is, and why she is the way that she is. Similarly, she feels frustrated in her lack of proficiency in her magic. She hopes that recovering some of her memories will help her unlock the magic within her that currently lies dormant.
  • Proving her value as a person and as a wizard. After losing her memory, Ren feels as though she has to prove her worth not only as a guild member, but as a person as well. Typically she is on her "best behavior" in an attempt to make others like her/notice her abilities. She desires people to know how good she can be.
  • Providing for the old man that nursed her back to health. After Ren's accident, an old man found her in the woods, and otherwise cared for her until she was well again. Ren feels indebted to this man-- who she now views as her grandfather-- and will do anything to provide him with a comfortable life.

Fears:

  • Mice/Rats: While Ren has a severe distaste for all rodents, she has a strong fear of mice and rats. She has been known to cry, scream, and otherwise become hysterically disheveled when they are around, or she thinks that they might be. An encounter with a singular mouse/rat will call for the woman to throw things at the rodent, or call someone in screaming "KILL IT! KILL IT"

  • Losing "JiJi" the old man that nursed her back to health. Ren is rather upset by her lack of memories, but is grateful for the old man that had found her after her accident. She has come to love this old man as a grandfather, and can't stand to lose the only family that she knows.

Positive Traits:

  • High Society (+2): You know good manners and were trained to handle social interactions in noble circles. This is useful in requests involving members of the highest levels of society, such as monarchs, nobles, courtiers, lords and ladies, and high-ranking clerics.
Explanation: You are capable of having threads with nobles. Those without this feat cannot.
  • Regeneration (+4): You heal very fast inside and outside of combat. Small cuts that go up to one inch deep are healed in the next post.
Explanation: C Rank damage healed every post.
  • Persuasive (+2): You have a way with words and body language. Somehow you manage to persuade weaker minded people easily.
Explanation: When using this feat, players will have to roll a bronze die. Failure to land on a number results in them agreeing with you.
  • Breath Control (+3): You enjoy an almost legendary ability to master the air in your lungs. You may hold in your breath for multiple posts.
Explanation:You may hold your breath for 3 posts.
  • Diligent (+2): Your meticulousness allows you to analyze minute details that others miss.
Explanation:Reduces training cost of spells by 10% in word cost.
    Total: +13

Negative Traits:

  • Curiosity (-1): You're a naturally curious person and you find mysteries of any sort irresistible. In most circumstances, alas, your curiosity overrides your common sense. This forces you to investigate something unusual, even if it looks like it might be dangerous.
Explanation: You will walk deeper into the forest you have never been before. You won't turn around from the castle that you have never seen. This can result into getting you into very dangerous situations.
  • Harbinger of Ill Omen (-1): You seem to be cursed to forever bump into a specific person, time and time again. Each time you do, something bad happens not long afterward. This person in no way does this purposefully, it just happens with alarming frequency.
Explanation: You will have character assigned to you by roleplay department of staff who will enter you threads randomly from time to time. When this happens, staff will change the conditions of your thread against you. Such as heavy storm, avalanches or beasts catching onto your smell.
  • Extravagant (-2): You enjoy living in the lap of luxury. Ale is never good enough if you can get fine wine instead. You aren't happy with anything less than the finest room in the inn. In addition, any equipment or services you purchase cost 10% more than the standard rate for the locale you are currently in. The best of the best always costs more, after all.
Explanation: You will always pay 10% more when purchasing something.
  • Amnesia (-1): You are unable to remember anything about your past, yourself, or your family. Your life is a blank slate. However, your past may someday come back to haunt you. The rest of the flaws you pick are unknown to your character; over the course of your progress, your character will slowly discover them.
Explanation: You can't refer to anything about your past. The rest of your flaws or not nulled by this characteristic but rather unknown to your character.
  • Dependent (-3):  You have a ward or charge that depends on you, usually a young child or elderly relative that needs you to provide for them and devote at least part of your time to them. In money terms, this will cost you five percent of your jewels a month. You may also be required to stay near home often in case you are needed.
Explanation: You will be placed on a list and at the end of the moment five percent of your jewels will be deducted.
[Ren cares for the old man that found her/nursed her back to health after her accident. She calls this man "grandfather" though she has no relation to him-- to her knowledge]
  • Derangement/Insanity (-3): Phobia: A character afflicted by a phobia persistently fears a particular object or situation. She realizes that the fear is excessive and irrational, but the fear is disturbing enough that she avoids the stimulus.Explanation: Character is unable to face anything that has it's fear. If you're afraid of spiders and someone uses spider magic, you flee.
    [musophobia]
  • Intolerance (-1): You have an irrational dislike of a certain thing. It may be an animal, a class of person, a situation, or just about anything at all. Note that some dislikes may be too trivial or ridiculous to count--a dislike of Bavarian-crème-filled donuts or mechanical pencils, for example, has no real dramatic value and will not be allowed.
Explanation: You must act very disgusted and displeased when your dislike comes into play. [Slime/Things with a slimy texture]
  • Judgmental (-1): You form opinions quickly and change them very slowly. You also have a tendency to judge people on their appearance. A man dressed as a pirate, no matter how gentlemanly, is a scoundrel and a dog as far as you is concerned. A man covered in mud is a peasant, and a woman wearing revealing clothing is a prostitute.
Explanation: You must act very disgusted and displeased when your dislike comes into play.  [Red Heads-- They're always up to no good, pompous, arrogant and usually rude]
    Total: -13

IV. MAGIC

Magic: Alloy Make
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: The wizard is able to cast a platinum-colored metallic alloy. A type of metal, Ren's alloy can be used to create a plethora of things: swords, shot-put balls, discs, etc. that can be used to attack with. In a similar sense she can cast her magic defensively, by creating shields and body armor to protect herself from other wizard's attacks.
Strengths: Alloy make does particularly well against earth users-- as it is rather strong, and thus providing a counter-force to most earthen magics. A benefit to alloy armor, is a resistance to non-magic (bludgening) attacks as well. Because the user can create a tangible, metallic armor, it would provide safety from generic damage. Of course, with most "make"-er magics, another strength is the versitility and creativity of the magic. Ren can mold her magic into many different shapes depending on what the situation calls for: balls, discs, keys, crowns, stars, etc. Though, she cannot change the integral properties of the alloy itself, she can change the shape of its vessel.
Weaknesses: Of course, there are weaknesses to Alloy make as well. Due to the metal's conductivity, using alloy make against a lightning user may prove problematic, particularly in defense situations-- as the defense may instead act as a conduit to the electricity, which if the user was holding or wearing the alloy would cause them to be shocked instead of protected. Similarly, metal can melt at high temperatures, making going against a fire user problematic as well; depending on the rank differences (i/e: if the opposing mage uses a fire attack of a higher level than her attack, it can melt the alloy). As her alloy is metallic, it also poses an obvious weakness against the iron dragon/god slayers, as they can eat metal.

V. HISTORY

History:
Ren, who was born under the name "Catherene Windsor" grew up in a well-off family. She was no stranger to large balls and galas, and had learned at a young age how to be refined and polite. The young lady was groomed into the prime example of sophisticated grace: taught how to interact with others in her social class, how to express disinterest while being polite, ways to display acts of charitable kindness: anything that would benefit her socially and publicly. As a part of this, those of her around her were preparing for her one-day arranged marriage to a son of another elite family.

When Catherene  was nine, she discovered her aptitude for magic. In her family's grandiose style, no expense was spared in her magic tutoring. They employed an S-Rank Lamia Scale wizard to overlook her magical education, and soon the girl was flourishing in this ability. By the age of sixteen, there was very little that her master could teach her without the girl gaining experience in the real-world, on missions. This was something that Catherene was very much interested in, though her family was against the idea. Instead, they fired the girl's tutor for putting such blasphemous thoughts in her head.

It was the winter after Catherene's sixteenth birthday, as she still mourned the loss of her tutor -- the only one  that understood her natural magical aptitude, and desire to be a guild mage, that the young woman first met her betrothed. And while the young man was nice, he was boring. It was after this first meeting, the young woman devised a plan. Catherene, who had been taught to be rather persuasive, refused to marry the boy, unless she was granted right to first further her magical abilities as a guild mage of Lamia Scale with promise that the woman would return on her nineteenth birthday to wed her betrothed. Reluctantly, the two families agreed to the proposal, and the girl was allowed to rejoin her master.

And so, just before her seventeenth birthday, the young woman adorned the guildmark of Lamia Scale. To remove association with her family-- who did not want their reputation linked to a wizarding guild-- the young woman went only by the name of Ren: the guild master and her mentor the only two knowing her true identity. In little over a year, the woman quickly advanced through the guild's ranks, and was soon permitted to take dangerous missions on her own.

It was on one such mission in the Wood Earth Sea, a few months later, that Ren had been ambushed by a dark-wizard: one with red blazing hair, and a poor attitude to match. The dark-wizard had set the mission as a trap and had attacked Ren at full force. The dark mage, who was merciful in nature, was unable to finish the job-- instead leaving the young woman to die from the injuries she sustained. Indeed, the raven-haired woman was in critical condition, and had it not been for a kindly old man that had happened upon the pathway, she would have faded into a forever sleep. Instead, the man, who was a healing mage, took the weak, battered frame of the young woman back to his home and nursed the poor soul back from the edge of death.

It took months before the woman was strong enough to speak, even longer for her to be able to move: let alone walk or stand. Of course, one of the first questions that the man, who had told her to call him "JiJi" asked of the maiden was who she was. The girl couldn't remember anything, other than that her name was Ren. The old man decided to keep the woman in his home until she regained enough of her strength and memory to leave.

As the woman grew stronger, she too grew a fondness to the old man, as she felt indebted to him for saving her life, though she also found herself caring for him as a grandfather-figure. As her strength began to return, she had flashbacks of using magic, but nothing else. Under the supervision of the old man, Ren was able to cast very simple spells-- though the young woman knew it was nothing like the abilities that she had once had.

It took a very long time (just around her twentieth birthday) before the woman was rehabilitated enough to travel back to Clover, the town that housed the guild emblem that laid beneath the now healed, and scaring wounds. Filled with excitement and nervousness of discovering who she was before the accident. When she found the guild hall that resided in Clover, however, she discovered it completely demolished: fallen to the attack of Syl. She could find no survivors of the guild that would know of her identity.

Discouraged, though moderately relieved, and knowing not where else to go: the woman made the journey back to JiJi in Olinvine Town. On her travels back home, the young woman decided that perhaps joining a new guild, and being immersed in guild life would help her uncover some of the buried memories, that Lamia Scale had taken with it to the ground. As such, she encouraged JiJi  to accompany her to Hargeon so that she might join the Blue Pegasus guild. Still unable to recall anything about herself, the young woman took the old man's name, Inoe: claiming to be his granddaughter.
